TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - Talladega Superspeedway has permanently banned 14 fans from buying tickets at the speedway following their arrests Sunday for throwing objects on the track after Jeff Gordon's victory in the Aaron's 499.

The fans were charged with disorderly conduct Sunday and posted bond at the track's jail facilities, Talladega County Sheriff Jerry Studdard said. Track officials can't prevent the 14 fans from buying tickets through a third party.

ImageWatching a baseball game in a stadium and munching on a bag of peanuts is commonplace for most of us. But, for some kids, even contact with that bothersome peanut shell dust can turn deadly.

So the Twins announced Friday that they've set aside four dates this season at the Metrodome in which one section will be "peanut free."

If it sounds a bit extreme, medically speaking, it's not, said Dr. Pramod Kelkar of Maple Grove, who specializes in food allergies.

And if it sounds a bit extreme, from a sports niche marketing perspective, it's just one more effort by Twins vice president Patrick Klinger to make the team's games more family friendly. Besides, growing up in Winona years ago, Klinger had a friend whose mother died after a reaction to peanuts.

ImageLOS ANGELES -- Barry Bonds hit his 741st home run Wednesday night, moving within 14 of Hank Aaron's career record.

With no outs in the first inning, the San Francisco Giants slugger sent a 1-1 pitch from Randy Wolf of the Los Angeles Dodgers into right-center field for his seventh homer of the season. The three-run shot gave the Giants a 4-0 lead.

It was Bonds' first homer off the left-handed Wolf since 1999, and his 29th at Dodger Stadium.
